T-Shirts. They never get old, do they? Being around in their present form since 1904 as “bachelor undershirts,” t-shirts are the pieces that changed the way people looked at fashion.

They made life easier and the way consumers dressed simpler and, in a way, much “cooler.”

Today, we are going to take a look at five t-shirt trends you need to know for an up-to-date 2018 wardrobe.

Let’s start!

1. Lyrics and Typography

This is not a new trend but something that has been going on for quite some time now. Lyrics by Aerosmith, song titles by Metallica, and even pop lyrics were printed since the 80s but the trend came back in 2013 when Beyonce and Jay-Z released “Drunk in Love.”

Fans all over the world rushed to print the line “Surfboard” and wore it on many different occasions. We are happy to announce that the very same trend is a great solution for 2018 as well — and that’s why Beyonce still sells printed t-shirts.

This is a really simple tip for some really cool tees!

2. Sports T-Shirts

Again, another trend that has been around for a long time. The only difference here is that there is no minimalist approach –like your favorite team’s name only, for example.

Explore many different options and maybe consider wearing your team’s logo or even an illustration of your favorite players. Think big and be bold enough to wear it.

3. Boxed Typography

This is an excellent DIY project to keep you busy for a couple of hours. As a matter of fact, you need no sophisticated software or even skills to create a bunch of t-shirts yourself. So, why don’t you just give it a try?

Simple, space out the words you want to put on your tee within a geometric shape. It could be anything from a rectangle to a circle, but you’d better try a geometric sans-serif font for your letters.

As for the phrase? You can experiment literally with anything you feel like.

4. Minimalist Tees

Another simple technique you will be able to do-it-yourself! You need no shapes, no geometry and definitely no design skills.

Simply write a phrase or anything you want using a simple font like Arial or Helvetica (preferably centered) and just play with contrasts. If, for example, you go for a black shirt, make sure you use white letters and vice versa.

This way your message will be clear and readable.

5. Hand-Drawn Illustrations

Hand-drawn, crazy stamps might be one of the hottest 2018 trends right now. Even if you are not great at drawing, you can simply use your handwriting and write a cool phrase in your own letters.

If you do not have the equipment, you can easily draw or write on paper and scan it into your computer. Take your work of art to a professional and they will create a stamp from it!
