CBD differs from THC. THC is another compound found within cannabis (marijuana) that is responsible for the ‘high’ typically associated with the plant. Since there is no risk that comes with taking a higher dose of CBD, we will be doing this to not overshoot our desired amount, in order to get the most out of your new herbal product. Since everyone is different, determining factors that could explain why your dosage is higher or lower than your peers can range from body weight, blood chemistry, to your sensitivity to CBD, and depending on if you’re taking other forms of medication that could impact the potency of the effect. 

How Much CBD Oil Should I Take?

When determining how much CBD oil you should take, you may reference the range and diversity in the amounts that other people found sufficient. 

Some people found that taking as little as 1 to 3mg taken once or twice a day was a fitting dose. This is a great way to start off if you are new to taking CBD. From there, you will be able to gauge how much more, if any, is needed. Once again we fall back to our golden rule, start low and start slow.

Others may find that anywhere from 10 to 20 mg taken once or twice a day could be enough of an efficient effect CBD oil. The range once again varies of different factors dealing with people’s bodies and sensitivities. Suggested use could be beginning on the lower end of the spectrum, as discussed above, of around 1 to 3mg taken once or twice a day in order to better assess how much CBD oil you should take.

How Long Does It Take to Feel The Effects of CBD Oil and How Should I Take CBD?

This depends on the method by which you choose to take CBD oil. How much CBD oil you should take as well as the method of which you use to take it will speak to the potency and how long the effects will last. 

You can take CBD oil orally (through food or other digestible products), sublingually (under the tongue) or topically (on the skin). Orally can take anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes to begin to take effect, while sublingually is much faster, it can take anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes and topically could take effect within minutes. 

Each of these methods will affect how long it takes your CBD oil to activate and the potency of its healing benefits. When taking CBD oil orally, it typically allows for longer lasting and more potent effects. However, with the time it takes to enter the bloodstream where it can start taking effect through your endocannabinoid system, it has to go through your digestive system first, this takes longer compared to our second method or taking CBD, which is sublingual. When taking CBD sublingually, the potency is comparable to taking it orally, however, its effects are much faster. When taking CBD sublingually it bypasses the need to be digested before entering the bloodstream. This allows for faster processing time, and less effort on the body to allow for its effects to begin to take place. When applying oils topically, however, it allows for quick response time and is effective when treating a condensed area of issue of the body. This method, however, has been known to last the shortest duration. 

What Is The Most Accurate Way of Taking CBD?

Taking CBD oils is great and almost ensures the consistency of your intake. However, if you want to ensure the measurement of each dose is set ahead of time to allow for you to have your dose be quick and consistent, capsules may be your preferred method. Each capsule is filled with an exact dose of CBD to ensure a consistent, accurate dose of CBD. This may be a great method to use once you’ve determined the right dose for you through CBD oil.
