HIIT or High-Intensity Interval Training has been around for quite some time. It used to only be thought of as a way of doing cardio to melt the fat off. However, it has recently seen a resurgence with weight training. The way HIIT is performed is; you do a burst of highly intense activity followed by a short rest period. Typically 60 seconds on and 30 seconds off. This is great to do with weights or on days you are only doing cardio. It is also great to do for about 15 minutes of HIIT after a weight training session to create an extra fat burning cycle.
