CrossFit combines several compound exercises utilizing both cardio and strength training.
HIIT
HIIT or High-Intensity Interval Training has been around for quite some time. It used to only be thought of as a way of doing cardio to melt the fat off. However, it has recently seen a resurgence with weight training. The way HIIT is performed is; you do a burst of highly intense activity followed by a short rest period. Typically 60 seconds on and 30 seconds off. This is great to do with weights or on days you are only doing cardio. It is also great to do for about 15 minutes of HIIT after a weight training session to create an extra fat burning cycle.
Technology You Can Wear
Wearable technology is huge in the fitness world these days and it keeps getting bigger. From heart rate monitors to activity trackers to smartwatches, these gadgets can help you get a better insight and possibly gain an edge over your contemporaries.
