Boulder Ridge Villas and the Wilderness Lodge
Disney Boulder Ridge and the Wilderness Lodge are now working together to exceed guests’ expectations. At Boulder Ridge Villas, you’ll be staying in an area that’s separate from the Wilderness Lodge. However, guests staying at the boulder ridge villas will have full access to the Wilderness Lodge’s amenities, including the lobby!
A Look Inside the Lobby
When you arrive at Boulder Ridge, the first thing you’ll notice is the rustic feel the resort has. The inspiration for the resorts decorations come from the historic Old Faithful Lodge in Yellowstone Park.
As you step inside the large lobby, you’ll hear crickets welcoming you and your family. You could easily spend the day hanging out in the lobby, sitting in the large rocking chairs, and admiring the totem poles.
The lobby also has teepee chandeliers and wood carvings, along with an 80 ft tall fireplace! Finally spread throughout the lobby you’ll find hidden Mickeys, which is a great game for the kids.
How Is Boulder Ridge Different From the Wilderness Lodge?
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is a deluxe Disney resort that’s open to the public. Boulder Ridge at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is timeshare villa resorts that belong to the Disney Vacation Club or DVC. The villas are special because they either have kitchen facilities or a kitchenette, in addition to the standard rooms.
Do You Have To Be a DVC Member?
Good news, you don’t have to be a DVC member to stay at the villas. As long as there’s a vacancy, Boulder Ridge will be happy to book you’re staying. To book your room you can call Disney’s Reservation Line, or visit Disney’s website.
Benefits of Being a DVC Member
If you are a DVC member, you won’t have to pay the standard overnight self-parking fee. DVC members also get special pricing for Disney merchandise and certain dining opportunities. Finally, sometimes there are special events that only DVC members can attend, however, it’s not often.
1. Room Sizes and Amenities
There are 3 different villas you can get at Boulder Ridge. There’s the studios, the 1 bedrooms, and the 2 bedroom villas. Every room comes with free wi-fi.
2. Studio Villas
The studio villas can sleep up to 5 adults. In your studio villa, you’ll have 1 queen bed, 1 sleeper sofa, 1 pull-down bed, and 1 bathroom. The living area int he studio includes a small dining table, a television and 2 chairs.
You’ll also have a kitchenette which includes a coffee maker, refrigerator, wet bar, and microwave. Finally, you’ll be able to enjoy relaxing on your private porch or balcony.
3. 1 Bedroom Villas
The 1 bedroom villas at Disney boulder ridge can sleep up to 4 adults. In your room, you’ll find a king-sized bed and a queen-sized sleeper sofa in the living room. The bedroom comes with its vanity room, as well as a whirlpool tub.
There’s 1 full bathroom, and the kitchen is fully equipped. In the dining area, you’ll find a table with 4 chairs, and there’s also a laundry room with a washer and dryer.
Similar to the studio, you’ll have your private balcony or porch. However, with the 1 bedroom option, you’ll also get a small table and 2 chairs.
4. 2 Bedroom Villas
The 2 bedroom villas sleep up to 8 adults. You’ll find a master bedroom with a king bed, along with 2 additional bedrooms that each have their queen-sized bed. The unit features 2 full bathrooms, with whirlpool tubs.
You’ll have your patio or balcony, a washer and dryer in the laundry room, and a full kitchen. Don’t worry about bringing any pots or pans, this unit comes with cookware and utensils.
5. Typhoon Lagoon Is Nearby
While you’re at the villas, make time to visit Typhoon Lagoon. The large Disney waterpark has fun water slides, a manmade creek, a wave pool, and of course surfing!
There’s also Typhoon Lagoon Surfing programs where you can learn to surf like a pro! What time does Typhoon Lagoon open?
The usual opening time is 10 a.m. and closing depends on the time of year. For colder months, the park closes at 5 p.m., during the summer the park closes at 8 p.m.
Disney Parks You Can Easily Visit
Disney Boulder Ridge Villas are in the Magic Kingdom resort area. You can spend the day visiting the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and the Animal Kingdom. There are also a ton of water parks other than Typhoon Lagoon in the area.
How To Get To the Magic Kingdom From Your Villa
There are 2 ways you can get to the Magic Kingdom. You can hop on the Red Flag Boat which docks right by the Wilderness Lodges main pool. The second option is to hop on a bus that will take you directly to the Magic Kingdom. The bus depot is conveniently located right outside of the Wilderness Lodge’s main lobby.
