In Florida, Marco Rubio and Rick Scott — Republican candidates for U.S. Senate and governor, respectively — are trying to stay above the political fray with their latest ads as early voting continues across the state. “After all the noise and political attacks, this election is about one thing: Will our children inherit a diminished country, or will we leave them a stronger and more prosperous America?” asks Rubio, at the edge of the frame.

Scott’s ad, “Rally,” was filmed at a Jacksonville convention center. The Florida Independent’s Virginia Chamlee was at the shoot and reported that between 250 and 300 people showed up to “join Rick Scott for lunch and a commercial shoot.”

Scott’s ad is notable for being positive, as many of his ads in the primary and general elections have been negative. This ad does not mention his opponent. Scott also has the heavier lift in the eight days left before the election: Rubio has a solid lead in a three-way race, while Scott and Democratic candidate Alex Sink remain in a dead heat.
