With Republican David Rivera’s lead for U.S. Congressional District 25 Republicans are on their way to a sweep in Florida.

According to Florida Election Watch Rivera has over 52 percent of 125,000 votes counted and Democrat Joe Garcia has over 42 percent. This would be the second consecutive electoral defeat for Joe Garcia in District 25.

Republican Mario Diaz-Ballart represented District 25 since 2003. This year he went to District 21 to take over for his brother Lincoln.

Tonight Democratic incumbents Alan Grayson, Suzanne Kosmas and Allen Boyd lost respectively to their Republican opponents Daniel Webster, Sandy Adams and Steve Southerland.

Republican Allen West has a comfortable lead for District 22 seat over Democrat Rep. Ron Klein.
