Table of Contents
Titan Portable Solar Generator
First on our list is the Titan. The Titan portable solar generator comes with a base unit, a lithium-ion battery, and a power module. The battery has a capacity of 2,000wh and the power module has a 3,000w pure sine wave inverter.
What does that mean? This portable solar generator is enough to run all your gadgets and is the perfect generator for camping. This portable generator has the largest inverter and largest solar output of any other generator on the market.
That being said the Titan can be heavy. The designers knew this might be a problem for some so they designed the Titan so the batteries can be separated for transport making it around 35 pounds.
For all the power that you get out of this thing, it is one of the easiest portable solar generators to transport.
The Titan has a two-hour charge speed with one battery and 1,000w of solar. Or, if you prefer 1 battery and 2,000w of solar your battery can be charged in as little as 1 hour. That’s crazy fast!
Lion Energy Safari ME
The Safari ME portable solar generator is another highly recommended source of power and is a perfect RV generator for RV camping or trips. It has a powerful LiFePo4 battery that is rated for 2,500 lifecycles, so you can rest assured knowing your generator will work for a long time.
The only issue we see with this generator is that it is quite small and can only power a fridge for about twelve hours. If you are looking to power a few items of gear for a while this generator is perfect for you.
If not you can always get a battery extension known as the Safari+ME Expansion. The extra battery is 2,048wh which is just as big as the Titan battery. With the expansion battery, this unit will create and store enough energy for RV trips.
Goal Zero Yeti 6000X
Another popular unit is the Goal Zero portable solar generator. This unit has a very large battery but is limited in its capacity in other areas.
The Goal Zero Yeti has a whopping 6,071wh battery capacity. This thing is huge! But it is also heavy weighing in at around 104 pounds. That’s a lot of weight to move around for a simple camping trip.
The battery only has 500 cycles which means it will last you about a year and four months. But if you are looking for a lot of energy output and don’t mind the extra weight or the limited lifespan this is the generator for you.
So Many Choices
If you are in the market for a portable solar generator, you have a lot of choices. It’s best to narrow down your generators by thinking about what items you plan on running and for how long and then finding a generator that meets your needs.
