People who use Macs really love their Macs. The computers have developed almost a cult following. And that’s mainly because these machines are beautiful, powerful, and also very resilient.

Still, Mac computers aren’t perfect and they sometimes experience problems. The good news is that there are several troubleshooting solutions that can offer users the kind of Mac help that they’re looking for.

Troubleshooting your Mac can save you from a lot of stress and from costly repairs too. So what are you waiting for? Continue reading and we’ll walk you through everything you need to know!

1. Clearing the PRAM

If you’re Mac is slow to startup, then it may be due to PRAM problems. PRAM is a non-volatile memory that Apple uses in its Macs in order to store configuration data. However, some changes can remain stagnant in residual memory and this could end up with your Mac acting kind of weird.

In order to troubleshoot this problem, you should power down your Mac. Then, power it back on while also holding down the R + P + option + command. You’ll then hear the Apple chime before your Mac starts up.

Continue to hold those keys down until you hear another Apple chime to clear your PRAM.

2. Disable Extensions on Boot

If your computer is still having issues with booting up, it may be because of an issue with extensions. You may have installed an application that’s causing the problem for some reason.

In order to correct this, you want to restart your machine while holding down Shift. Continue to hold down this key in order to disable login items and extensions from loading during the startup process. When you have extensions disabled and enter Safe Mode, you’ll be able to delete the problematic applications and get everything back to normal.

3. Spinning Beach Ball

Do you know that cute colorful ball that shows up on your screen whenever your Mac starts lagging? Apple refers to it as the wait cursor, but most people simply call it the spinning beach ball.

This ball shows up when your computer is trying to do too many things at one time. Or, to put it another way, when an app can’t handle all of the things that it’s supposed to do.

Most of the time, this spinning beach ball shows up on your screen for just a few seconds and then things go back to normal. When it doesn’t go away, you might hear someone refer to it as the spinning beach ball of death.

There are a few reasons why this beach ball won’t stop spinning. First, you might not have enough free space on your computer. As a general rule of thumb, you should at least ten percent of free space on your disk at all times.

You should also go to your Activity Monitor and check if there any apps taking up a lot of energy and resources. If there are, you can force quit those apps.

Certain web pages that you browse can also end up greatly slowing down your computer.

4. Clear Cookies

Cookies can sometimes make your browsing easier and sometimes they can make it harder. They are parts of information that travel from websites to your browser. Cookies help websites that you visit recognize you when you return to those sites.

For example, they let you stay logged in, even after you close the site’s tab. These cookies aren’t saved at the website but on your browser. However, if you get too many cookies, your web browser might start acting funny.

So, try to disable cookies and see if that helps. And if you ever want them back, you can always allow cookies to work on your Mac at a later point.

5. Bluetooth Isnโ€™t Working

You may want to connect your AirPods, mouse, or keyboard to your Mac via Bluetooth. And it can then become very frustrating when the connection doesn’t seem to work.

The first troubleshooting trick you should try is to restart your computer. Next, turn the Bluetooth tool off and then back on. After you do this, try again to reconnect your Bluetooth devices.

If they still won’t connect, then turn the Bluetooth device off and then back on. Now, once again try to reconnect it.

There also might be some other Bluetooth device interfering with the connection. Turn off your other Bluetooth devices or move them far away when connecting a new device.

6. Mac Overheating

If your Mac’s fans start running loudly, then there could be a problem that’s causing your computer to overheat.

Luckily, there are several things that you can do in order to help your computer run cooler. These include closing applications that are causing the processor to overwork and placing the computer on a stand.

The Importance of Knowing About Mac Help

As we can see, troubleshooting your Mac computer with some Mac help isn’t usually all that hard. And by keeping your computer well-maintained, clearing away files and data that you don’t need, and regularly checking in on it, your computer should stay in tip-top shape.

And if you still can’t fix your Mac’s problems, you can always take it to a nearby Apple store and have an Apple Genius help you out.

3 IPOs to Watch in 2016

Whether you are curious about stock or any other form of financial trading or simply enjoy seeing a success of the startups – IPOs are a great to watch. Not only you get to learn how undervalued or overpriced a certain company was, but you also get to see a rapid development a company can achieve with the funds it raised.

We are entering the middle of 2016 and so far there has not been too many interesting IPOs. When looking at the financial industry, it is possible to highlight the listing of the largest Dutch bank – ABN Amro. Next to this, a few ECN currency brokers flipped an IPO this year.

X-Trade Brokers, just got listed roughly a month ago, which signified the largest initial public offering in Poland during the last 365 days. Also, a leading UK brokerage, CMC Markets, started listing its stocks in February this year. Nevertheless, this IPOs weren’t too exciting. There is much more to expect in the coming month from the tech sector.

The most promising

Airbnb, a company that lets everyone lend their house, flat or a room is expected to start issuing stocks this year and this is certainly the most interesting IPO to keep your eyes on. The reason for this is very simple – apart from nearly $25Bn valuation, Airbnb actually generates some significant revenues.

What also tells us that this IPO will be a successful one is the lack of legal issues behind the business processes. Even though some laws in Germany were prohibiting the usage of such peer-to-peer services, the whole legal framework behind Airbnb is rather favourable. In addition to this, there is quite a strong support for the shared economy nowadays and, hence, this company might be seen as the safe-haven investment.

The most interesting

Do you remember last time you used a landline for calling? Well, thanks to this company, quite soon you might not remember last time you ordered a taxi. Yes, you got it right, we are talking about Uber. Even though there is no certainty whether Uber will flip an IPO this year, it is quite probable.

What makes this IPO the most interesting one? The whole legal situation behind Uber. Clients love it for its pricing and simplicity. Taxi companies hate it. Without a doubt Uber is a successful company, yet its operations strongly depend on the legal decisions of the local authorities.

While strikes against Uber happen frequently, those are the local regulators that will have a final word in determining Uber’s success in terms of market coverage and, hence, revenues.

The most amusing

Without a doubt previous two companies are here to stay. Both of them offer quite an advanced technology that simplifies people’s lives and provide cost benefits. However, there is another company that looks for an IPO this year, and many investors are laughing about it.

We are talking about Snapchat, the company that allows millennials communicating with each other, sticking funny noses on their selfies, the company that struggles to produce hardly any revenues.

While some investors laugh about this IPO, others see it as a great opportunity. Snapchat may not look like a goldmine, but it certainly has some potential. The main question is whether investors will be patient enough to see Snapchat implementing powerful advertising solutions while sustaining the growth of its user base.
