Republican Party of Florida chairman and state Sen. John Thrasher, R-Jacksonville, congratulated Florida’s “New All Republican Cabinet” today, in a press release that cited some of newly inaugurated Gov.’s Rick Scott’s notable campaign slogans:

Congratulations to our newly sworn-in all Republican Cabinet: Governor Rick Scott, Lieutenant Governor Jennifer Carroll, Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater. With strong Republican leaders at the helm, Florida is open for business in 2011 and beyond. There is considerable work ahead for our state, but I know Floridians will be impressed by the leadership and results that this Cabinet will provide. As Gov. Scott says, ‘Let’s Get to work!’

Thrasher initially appeared to favor Scott’s primary opponent, Attorney General Bill McCollum. But on a primary night at his victory party, he was careful not to take sides, saying only, “I will … embrace the nominee, whoever he is.”

Thrasher released a statement following Scott’s scathing campaign ads attacking McCollum, saying that Scott had “orchestrated a multifaceted campaign of misinformation.” Scott later fired back at Thrasher, saying that he didn’t agree to seek help with his campaign from the Republican Party because he “didn’t believe it was a level playing field, starting with Jim Greer and continuing with John Thrasher.”

The two appeared to have made amends since Scott won the primary and then the November election. On election night, Thrasher touted the tea party as being very helpful to both his and Scott’s campaigns: “They believe in much of what the Republican Party does, and we’re going to work together.”
