Democrat attorney general candidate Dan Gelber slammed his Republican opponent in her hometown last week during a rally for U.S. Senate candidate Kendrick Meek.

Gelber is facing former Tampa prosecutor Pam Bondi, who upset Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp in the primary to win the Republican nomination for attorney general.

“I am running against a Fox News analyst from these parts,” Gelber told the crowd, taking a shot at Bondi’s regular appearances on the network as a legal analyst.

Gelber also spoke of Bondi’s “friend from Alaska,” referring to former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, who endorsed Bondi prior to her winning the Republican primary.
