Staying healthy is also about making good choices. Choices you make about eating, exercising, smoking, and managing stress can make a big difference in your health. If I had to choose every day, would you choose salad or fried, cookies or fruit, soda or water? After dinner instead of eating a big piece of cake, do you go for a walk? It may be difficult, especially chocolate. After a long walk, a small piece of cake will taste good, a better choice is an apple. What do you choose that can make a big difference? Making healthy choices pays off over time. Eat healthy foods. To stay healthy your body needs the right amount of nutrients. Nutrients come from a food treat. Food with good nutrients helps your body stay strong and fight disease. Usually, fresh foods have the most nutrients. Choose fresh foods like fruits and vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy, lean meat, and fish. These foods can help you feel good, maintain a healthy weight, and increase your energy. You should also choose foods that are low in fat, salt, and sugar. Poor food choices can lead to poor health. The fact is what you eat is important to your health. Keep a healthy weight.
