It’s important to be adequately prepared when packing for a weekend in the woods. Being far away from home means you can’t easily turn back for a forgotten necessity.

Make sure you’re fully prepared to face any situation by packing the proper equipment. Some general camping accessories you’ll need is:

If you plan on bringing any pets, be sure to pack food, water, bowls, and waste bags, among other pet products. The same applies if you are camping with children. Keep them in mind when packing!

Don’t forget to pack:
- A pillow
- A sleeping bag or air mattress
- An air mattress pump
- Bug nets
- Eye mask
For extra comfort, pack a mat to lay down under your sleeping gear and extra padding for your air mattress or sleeping bag. Similarly, if you’re cold weather camping, bringing a warm water bottle can help keep you cozy.
Stay properly dressed for any situation. Keep in mind the time of year you’re planning to camp out during. You can pack lighter clothes for a summer trip as opposed to heavy jackets and fleece for the winter.

Ensuring you have the proper hygiene products is extremely important to your overall comfort and health. Remember to grab:
- Toilet paper
- Shampoo and conditioner
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Bug repellant
- Hairbrush or comb
- Menstrual products
For summer, be sure to bring aloe vera in case you get a sunburn.
Also, be sure to pack any prescription or over-the-counter medications you may need. Don’t be caught without important, personal necessities!
