In a new video interview posted at SunSentinel.com (via TPM), Republican gubernatorial candidate and Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum once again emphasizes his opposition to allowing gays and lesbians to adopt children, and defends hiring George Rekers to testify in support of Florida’s ban on gay adoptions. The St. Petersburg Times called Rekers’ reputation as an anti-gay psychologist “shattered” by “reports that he vacationed for two weeks in Europe with a gay male escort.”

Among the companies to have spent the most on lobbying is Automated HealthCare Solutions, a group whose co-chairmen have become fixtures on the political scene. According to the Current, Automated HealthCare has posted minimum lobbying expenditures greater than $300,000.
