With the race to become Republican Party of Florida chair coming down to the wire, candidates are scrambling to make a name for themselves — and at least one of the leaders in the race is saying that those voting should look to candidates’ “past experience” when deciding who will be the best person to run the party after former chair Jim Greer was forced out of the job amidst scandal.

Will Buchanan campaign lawsuit tarnish former manager’s bid to run the state GOP?

On Monday, The Florida Independent reported on a lawsuit filed by the Federal Election Commission, alleging campaign fraud during Rep. Vern Buchanan‘s 2006 and 2008 congressional campaigns. Alhough Buchanan was not named as a defendant in the suit, could the case tarnish the campaign to become the head of the Republican Party of Florida currently being waged by Buchanan’s former campaign manager?
