The quarterly campaign finance reports for Florida political parties were released late yesterday, and the Republican Party of Florida out-raised the Florida Democratic Party by more than four-to-one: $5.2 million to $1.2 million, between January and March. Here are five things I’ve noticed while combing through the spreadsheets:

New Republican Party of Florida website touts ‘equal opportunity,’ doesn’t mention gays or lesbians

The Republican Party of Florida today unveiled its new website, rpof.org, laying out a host of information about the party and its values. Among the party’s platform, according to the site, is a belief in “equal opportunity for all,” but the text makes no mention of equality for gays and lesbians.
