Legislature gives final approval to redistricting maps; Democrats file suit

The Florida Senate passed redrawn congressional, state House and state Senate district maps Thursday. The congressional map will now head to Gov. Rick Scott’s desk, while the legislative maps will be reviewed by the Florida Supreme Court.

The Florida Democratic Party is demanding that Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Sarasota, resign from his role as vice chair for finance with the National Republican Congressional Committee.
