Rep. Allen West, R-Fort Lauderdale, told mostly supportive members at a town hall meeting yesterday that he has heard “up to 80 U.S. House Democrats are Communist Party members,” The Palm Beach Post reports.
Rep. Allen West, R-Fort Lauderdale, told attendees at one of his town halls this week that he agrees with some key provisions in the health care reform law. President Obama’s Affordable Care Act has been one of the rallying forces for the Republican Party, which has been vehemently against the law since it was first discussed.
Gov. Rick Scott, Sen. Marco Rubio and Rep. Allen West have been invited to attend this year’s Values Voters Summit — one of the biggest conservative and religious right summits in the country.
House Republicans — including Florida GOP lawmakers Allen West, Vern Buchanan, David Rivera, Tom Rooney, Steve Southerland, and C.W. Bill Young — voted against a measure that would have prevented oil and gas exploration in the Great Lakes and the Florida Everglades.

In it, DeNapoli sharply criticizes state lawmakers’ proposals for how Rep. Allen West’s district should be redrawn, saying they doesn’t live up to the Fair Districts standards approved by Florida voters in November 2010.
