Every Friday here at The Florida Independent, we pick out the best comments we received during the previous week, whether they came from commenters here on our site, or via Facebook and Twitter. Want to be included next week? Assail us with your rapier wit!

In response to “No love lost between Kendrick Meek and Jeff Greene”:

I showed up in support for Greene but I never got my ham croquette as promised. —Miamisound

In response to “Bill McCollum concedes, doesn’t mention Rick Scott by name”:

I’ve never supported Bill McCollum — I lean more to the left — but it least he was a QUALIFIED candidate, and not tainted by corporate fraud. This has to be a VERY bitter pill for McCollum and his supporters to swallow, and I feel bad for him. And, I shudder to think the kind of campaign we’re gong to see Scott waging against Alex Sink. —Nancy Krohngold

In response to “Scott a boon to state Republican Party?”:

No question, Scott helps downticket GOP candidates raise $ —electionsmith

In response to “Rep. Ander Crenshaw takes heat for ties to St. Johns-polluting industry”:

Last year, at Republican Party meetings, all they talked about was how important it was to clean up the St. Johns River. Now I know why.. they want poor and middleclass taxpayers to pay to clean up our water after it was polluted by the corporate friends.. who apparently walk away with profits made by polluting our water and leaving it to us to clean up after them. Not really much different than Wall Street. I’m getting pretty tired of my tax dollars being used to bail out these corporate criminals! —Dena

In response to “McCollum, bucking his own party and allies, refuses to endorse Scott”:

How about some limits on campaign spending? Elections should not go to the biggest spender. Sadly, so many citizens believe every thing they hear on TV… —elevey

In response to “Palin goes rogue, uses anti-abortion event to tout her stance on health care reform”:

I understand all the Republican gibberish about abortion but how are we supposed to come together under the “Declaration of Independence?” Is she condoning rebellion? Or is this just more ignorant (forth grade understanding of government) tea-party code for “vote the bums out?” —JasperCat
