Some 28 centrist “Blue Dog” Democrats lost their congressional seats after the 2010 elections, including now-former Rep. Allen Boyd, who represented Florida’s 2nd district.

According to a recent report by the Center for Public Integrity’s iWatch News, nearly a third of them have achieved soft landings by taking jobs lobbying their former colleagues.

Boyd now works for the bipartisan Twenty-First Century Group, whose client list includes several figures in the telecommunications industry, among them Verizon and Time Warner Cable.

The report notes that industry groups and their political committees bailed on the Blue Dogs after they failed to pass business-backed legislation when Democrats controlled congress, and that many of the groups switched to supporting Republicans.
