Every Friday here at The Florida Independent, we pick out the best comments we received during the previous week, whether they came from commenters here on our site, or via Facebook and Twitter. Want to be included next week? Assail us with your rapier wit!

In response to “Scott announces pension plan cuts”:

So since he has 200+million in personal wealth, he figures this will have no effect on him. This is just another way for the rich to screw the middle class again. We work our buts off only to have this yahoo rip us off. —Angry County Worker

The trade-off for low wages compared to the private sector was a good benefits plan when I considered employment with the State. Did Rick Scott think this through: I don’t think so. Hopefully our legislators will. —Bj4256

You worketh and now scotteth taketh away. —Clyde Robinson Jr

In response to “‘Choose Life’ plate law rewrite draws concern from pregnancy centers”:

So the only babies worth saving are the ones that can be harvested for adoption, do I read that correctly? In other words, if a pregnant woman wants to parent her child but is considering abortion because she has no one to help her, the “Choose Life” funds won’t be offered to her. It’s OK, then, for her to abort, right? Or does she have to submit to the extortion of having to hand over her baby to someone else in order to get help with her pregnancy and after?

In response to “Huckabee to support group whose leader said Planned Parenthood efforts ‘almost like’ genocide”:

I love it – these yahoos are all about protecting a fetus, but when that fetus is born, do you think they’re willing to make sure it has adequate, no-frills healthcare? Or an economy that gives their families a chance to support them? Of course not.

Radical Republicans: “we love the not yet born, but once you’re born, we could care less.” —open eyes

In response to “Castor aligns with business lobbyists to push for high-speed rail”:

If this does not happen due to Gov Scott, Tampa/Miami/Orlando will make sure he is not re-elected —Dave
