Every Friday here at The Florida Independent, we pick out the best comments we received during the previous week, whether they came from commenters here on our site, or via Facebook and Twitter. Want to be included next week? Assail us with your rapier wit!

In response to “Proponent of Arizona-style immigration law to chair Judiciary Committee”:

Have these fools learned nothing? This same thinking cost Arizona billions of dollars in business and a reputation as the most racist state in the union. Florida and Colorado want to compete for the same thing to what end? Pass comprehensive immigration reform and lets move on! —Tim Paynter

In response to “Rep. Mack once again stands up for WikiLeaks”:

Makes me proud to be a Florida resident. —Jim

In response to “Superman screening for lawmakers offers glimpse of school-reform debate”:

It’s a shame that this faux documentary, which is actually a piece of propaganda for charter schools, is being viewed as a look at education and education reform.

Setting aside that scenes in the documentary were staged, it’s a good idea to look at the other false claims, misleading statistics and ideological agenda behind the film. —Choire Sicha

In response to “Earthjustice blasts state lawsuit against EPA”:

Thanks for calling out the polluters, who have a good deal freely spoiling that which belongs to us all in order to make as much money as possible for themselves. They should be the ones charged for any measures necessary to clean up the mess they make. —caranuf

In response to “Jacksonville ACT! head discusses call to oust Muslim man from Human Rights Commission”:

He sits on a Human Rights Commission. It isn’t exactly the seat for taking over the government or something. I guess he should be very good at recognizing when someones Human Rights have been violated considering the experience he is gaining from these people! —Anonymous
