Prior to his recent bid for Senate, Marco Rubio actually supported comprehensive climate legislation, according to Solve Climate News. Critics say Rubio now denies climate change because doing so will help him win with Republicans.

Some of his “green” accomplishments include guiding the Florida House to pass an omnibus energy law, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and open the market to renewable energy.

According to Solve Climate News,

“Now, Rubio has done a 180-degree turn,” [Jerry Karnas, an energy consultant in Florida] said. “He doesn’t talk about solar [or] cellulosic ethanol, and he’s denying the science of climate change. And he’s open to drilling. As speaker, he never would have gone along with offshore drilling.”
